I mean….with a hat like that, everybody is going to make your portrait.
Luckily for her there were a number of photographers in the family (all of whom used Leica!) and were making beautiful images throughout the day.

It's fall, and I often find myself in the Berkshires or Western Massachusetts for weddings. Each time, I feel a calmness and quietness to the area, and the area provides a refresh after a busy September.
My wife always jokes that I take too many photos of children. But, they are emotive, less camera aware, and constantly in motion! How can I not feel that an image of this little one....making her grand escape during the ceremony while no one looks, will stand the test of time. Family, retelling and joking about her antics and personality shining through from this early age, through the years to come.

I cried. Some laugh. Many are stoic. But Lucy and Charley were grinning from ear to ear after their ceremony concluded.
Recently I found myself standing at this moment, overlooking all of the peaceful moving parts of Lucy and Charley's reception. It was a perfectly chilly evening, with the cool blue tones outside paring perfectly with the slow jazz, warm candle light, and fresh coffee being enjoyed by all.
