I am fairly certain that almost any type of event is made better with masks.

These two gentleman were a joy to get to know. Impressive humans, and completely in love.
These two live and breath Arlington, Ma. Both connected to the high school and live only a block from the town hall, where they celebrated. A quick portrait that I hope will remind them in the future of their venue, and having a second alone to catch their breath.
I don't tend to post many portraits on my blog. But, a portrait can often tell as much about a personality as capturing a candid moment of laughter, nervousness, or confusion. This portrait of Matt speaks to me of his calm and self assured personality that was so easy to be around while in Patagonia Chile for their elopement.
Transitions; The flurry of movement from the Limo, with your maid of honor and father. Color; The warm sunny day, toned from shooting through hundred year old stained glass.
My wife always jokes that I take too many photos of children. But, they are emotive, less camera aware, and constantly in motion! How can I not feel that an image of this little one....making her grand escape during the ceremony while no one looks, will stand the test of time. Family, retelling and joking about her antics and personality shining through from this early age, through the years to come.
"I am silver and exact. I have no preconceptions.
Whatever I see I swallow immediately
Just as it is, unmisted by love or dislike.
I am not cruel, only truthful ‚
The eye of a little god, four-cornered.
Most of the time I meditate on the opposite wall.
It is pink, with speckles. I have looked at it so long
I think it is part of my heart. But it flickers.
Faces and darkness separate us over and over." - Sylvia Plath
Food is a large part of life. I love documenting the food at a wedding as it has its own culture, history, and memories.
The longer I photograph weddings (10 years now!) and despite my love of funky, artistic, documentary imagery....the more I come to believe that an image like this may be one of the most historically meaningful images captured on a wedding day. If you can manage a photograph with every guest in attendance...do it.
