A little odd...but I like it!
This happens when friends spot the bride and groom through the window, haha.
“the widespread desire for the precise freezing of action took hold in the era of ‘moving pictures'” and that it wasn’t until the 1920s that the ‘decisive moment’ came into vogue – “It was almost as if cinema, in colonizing the popular understanding of time, implied that life itself was made up of distinct slices and that still photography had the potential to seize and extract them.” - Campany
Easily one of the most unknown and underrated wedding venues in all of greater Boston. In my humble opinion.
On wedding days it seems to flux between lightspeed, go go go....and bouts of stillness and waiting. Here, the father of the groom was peacefully awaiting to be called to walk down the isle for the ceremony, and I felt that this image could have been captured at almost any point in history. He just fit the space. Historic and timeless.
I am not typically into the "stuff" of a wedding. The flowers, shoes, details that wedding blogs and pinterest deem "important". Rather I try to capture the little moments and the stories of your family and friends throughout the day. But, I can't help but be smitten anytime there are parasols! What a visually fun element to craft into the day and photograph. Plus, on an experiential level, they keep you cool and protect guests from the sun. Win-win.
